Missions Challenge

Since spring took its time in arriving, why not have a virtual Missions in Motion challenge in May (prior to the District Convention)! This is replacing the regular Missions in Motion walk during the convention. It is so easy to do, and you can involve your congregation too! Simply challenge 30 families/individuals (whatever number works for you) to give a $1 a day for 30 days = a total gift of $30. Have them deposit their gift within an envelope marked “Mission in Motion” and drop it into your large mite box!

Ingathering for Convention

Convention is coming soon…in June, it is the perfect time to begin collecting for our
Ingathering projects! There is still plenty of time to involve your entire congregation in gathering the items. We have three organizations we will be gathering for, and they are:

Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch:

  • Bibles (NIV preferred)
  • Christian music
  • Art supplies
  • Gift cards
  • Equipment for summer activities (balls, games, fishing items, noncompetitive items)

Domestic Violence Crisis Center:(all new items, please)

  • Women’s undergarments
  • Bath towels
  • Pillow cases/twin sheets and bedding
  • Personal and feminine care products

Dakota Hope Clinic : (baby boutique—all new items)

  • Diaper(s) size 3, 4, 5
  • Sleep sacks with zipper
  • Most any baby items

Gather as many of these items as you are able and bring them along to convention in Minot!

Also, remember the Servant Events at the beginning of convention where we will need help packing up these items. Here are the Servant Events that will need workers on Friday, June 22, 2018, from 2:30 to 4:00 p.m.
Servant Event options:
1) Mercy Meals — putting together meal packets — at St. Mark’s
2)Dakota Hope Clinic/Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch — folding newsletters and possible other tasks as
needed – at St. Mark’s.
3)Pack ingathering items – at Holiday Inn.

Mites are Needed!!

Mites are Needed!!

The LWML ND District 2016-18 Mite Goal is $76,000. Currently, we have paid $59,320 in Mission Grants. This leaves us somewhat behind.
Does your unit have extra monies that could be contributed to the current Mite Goal? Would you consider giving extra to help fulfill outstanding our Mission Grant Projects?
Please consider giving today! Send Mites to: LWML ND Financial Secretary, Audrey O’Brien, PO Box 3, Oakes, ND 58474.

In order for mites to be counted in this 2016-2018 biennium they need to be received by Financial Secretary Audrey O’Brien by May 31st. Any mites sent in after that will go toward the 2018-2020 mite goal. We still have a couple mission grants to be paid. Please send your mites in now. These ministries are counting on us!
